About Mike Davis
All Mick's Pix Photos images are under copyright and ARE NOT in the public domain
I've been a wildlife and scenic photographer for about twenty years ( it actually started as just being a good excuse to spend every free minute in the woods and parklands around the Cleveland, Ohio area ) and recently at the urging of friends opened my web-site in order to market some of the thousands of images I've collected over the years.
There's no underlying theme to my images other than a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around us; all I really have to say is that even in these troubled times, nature has managed to counterbalance the troubles with some genuine beauty all around you if you'll just let yourself see it.
I,ve never been very selective about what I'll photograph ( my motto seems to be " If it'll hold still for a sixtieth of a second, I'll take its picture." ) but most of my images are from Northeast Ohio, primarily in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Cleveland Metroparks " Emerald Necklace ", but there are also scenes from the Adirondack and Cattskill mountains in New York, as well as from western Pennsylvania. there is a broad spectrum of subjects: from whitetailed deer to butterflies, from the stark contrast of a stream after a fresh snowfall to the strikingly bright colors of the northeast Ohio autumn on a sunny day, from covered bridges to sunset cityscapes, in color and black-and-white.
If you enjoy viewing, and perhaps owning, any of my images anywhere near as much as I enjoyed taking them, then, I will have enjoyed them all the more for that.
